While editing Meghan, Tomas & KayLana’s session I kept saying to myself, out loud, various phrases of the word sweet. Like, “That’s so sweet!” or “How sweet are they!?” or “They are so sweet!” Yeah, I really need to expand my vocabulary!

Anyway! I met these three (and a half) at the horse stables at Gate 10. I hadn’t shot down there before so that was good to explore and find different backgrounds. Meghan & Tomas are going to welcome another daughter into their family in January and they wanted some family/maternity photos before the weather got too cold. We shot these at the beginning of November on a nice, but rather windy day. (BTW, I’m still kind of in shock that it’s already December. Where does the time go?) Anyway, I’m pretty stoked about posting these images.

Dear Devin,

Happy Birthday! I hope you are enjoying your birth day. You have a lot to look forward too. For instance, you have amazing parents! (But you already know that because you met them this morning!) You also have a cool middle name. Other kids will be jealous for sure. ;) I would put your middle name here but I don’t want to misspell it. Your dad (and grandparents) love to play Rock Band. You don’t know what that is yet, but trust me, other kids will be jealous. Your mom has the greatest sense of humor. I’m sure she will have you smiling and laughing in no time! So many people love you and can’t wait to meet you! I know your grandparents are so happy you are here. You have lots of aunts, uncles and cousins to play with. Not to mention all the non-related aunts, uncles and cousins! These photos were taken nine days ago. You were still cooking and probably planning your escape route. Once during the photo shoot, I asked your mom if you were kicking any and she said no. But then, you kicked! I think you knew we were talking about you. :) I love the way your dad looks at your mom; he is very protective of her, and now you! You are so lucky! I am extremely happy for your mom and dad. They are always generous and very kind; they deserve all the joy in the world. You have already brought so much happiness to so many people during your first day. I hope you see these photos one day and know that even before you were born, you were, and are, loved the most by your two biggest fans: your mom and dad. Happy Birthday again!

My friends Danielle and Marshall are expecting their first bundle of joy in 8 days! Last Saturday, I had the privilege of shooting some maternity photos for them. I know they are very excited to meet their little boy soon! Here’s a preview of our fun afternoon together.
