Leah & John have two adorable children, Jillian and Andrew. At one point during the session I asked Jillian, “Do you want to be a model when you grow up?” and she nodded yes with a big grin. :) She just glowed in front of the camera. (I think she gets that from her beautiful mom, Leah!) We met at Dunbar Cave on a cold day but made the best of it. I wanted to take a picture of the family in front of the water, geese & ducks, so after getting them positioned, the ducks & geese began walking up behind the family, like they wanted to be in the pictures too! Then they walked right up beside me! I think they thought I had food, which is a no-no at Dunbar Cave. Still, this was my first time taking pictures of ducks and geese on a shoot, so I found it amusing. :) Leah & John wanted these pictures as Christmas presents so it was a quick turnaround so they could send them off in the mail to their families. It was nice getting to see the fun way Leah & John interacted as well as how precious their kids are! Thank you, Leah & John! I hope you had a wonderful holiday!

The fella (or gal) on the right in this picture came right up from behind John then turned and looked at them. It was hilarious! And the kids loved watching them too.

I like how Andrew is still looking toward the ducks. :)

They are a very sweet family.

Favorite for sure! :D

Charming Jillian

A friend from one of my classes suggested me to Angela and her family. (Thank you, Heather!) We met on yet another cold day, and Angela, Terry & Little Terry were up for the challenge. The session took place at Dunbar Cave and the first few shots we tried were in a wooded area near the parking lot. I discovered it after my last photo shoot there and decided to try it out during our time together. The light was wonderful! I love finding new spots in not-so-new photo shoot locations. I also love meeting nice families like Angela & Terry’s! Little Terry was very easy going and excited about the photos. I love the black and white one I took of him posted below. My camera just loved Angela! She was awesome from the first picture until the last. And even if Terry doesn’t realize it, my camera loved him too. He made Angela & Little Terry laugh through the cold. I love a happy family, and they are definitely a happy family. I really think I captured that in these pictures. Thank you, Angela, Terry & Little Terry. I hope you had a blessed Christmas and have a wonderful New Year!

This is probably my favorite of them as a family.

This is the black & white one I mentioned above. I adore this!

Actually, maybe this one is my favorite of them as a family! I love this one A LOT.

:D

This is my favorite of them as a couple. :)

In totally unrelated news to my session with Angela, Terry & Little Terry, I woke up this morning at 6:31 before the sun rose. I got my camera, wrapped a blanket around me and went outside to snap a few pictures like this one:

Then I woke up again at 7:10. When I looked out the window the sun was rising. So, I took a few more pictures like this one from out my window:

I never wake up in time to see the sunrise, so the fact that I actually woke up and thought to take pictures of it is monumental! haha I’m also glad I was able to take these, and then fall back asleep. ;)

Family Session with L, W & I

December 22, 2009

L, W & I are such an adorable family. L & I (as in me, not their Baby Boy I) talked a lot through e-mail and Facebook in preparation for these pictures and when the day came it went smoothly. Baby Boy I had a toy to play with and received M&Ms for being good. I always suggest bringing toys and comfort items for shoots with children, especially if it’s chilly out. However, this day it was not chilly. I remember having on a jacket and wanting to take it off, but I was too involved in the picture taking business to take it off. hehe Anyway, here are the images from our afternoon together. Thank you for allowing me to capture your family, L & W. You all were great!

One of the first shots of the day. I loved Baby Boy I’s shirt because it had a 2 on it, and he is 2!

Pretty sure L didn’t know he had his thumb in his mouth for this picture, but I think it’s cute.

One of my favorites.

Another one of my favorites of I.

I began taking pictures of L & W, like this cute one.

And Baby Boy I was not going to have any of it! He jumped in front of L & W. So sweet!

Ahh, yet another favorite of I. :)

This is my favorite of them as a family.

And these last two are my favorite of L & W.

Beautiful couple!

Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow I’m posting Tiffany’s Senior Pictures and pictures from her graduation so be sure to stop by.
